After every election day there is usually a sobering feeling, either of up or down.
We rarely, on either side, get everything or everyone that we wanted. Sort of
like Christmas Day in the aftermath. This is probably a good thing, for it gives us
a chance to breathe after all of the contention preceding the present.
At this point most of us get a chance to think more clearly than when we were
bombarded with all of the barbed political ads seemingly everywhere. Looking
both forward and backward without indoctrination, we have a chance to sort
out important issues in the light of our own wishes and needs. This is a lot
more healthy than digesting propaganda 24/7.
And this feeling of relaxation leads us nicely into the Holiday of Thanksgiving
where we are given a chance to be actually thankful for all of the blessings which
we have received and to acknowledge them as coming from a higher power.
I have been reading a book entitled: “Pagan Threat” by Lucas Miles that stresses
the importance of God, our Creator, being in our lives; also the importance of God
in our country and its Constitution. Our founders viewed this as necessary to the
longevity of our form of government. All of them, no matter what form of faith.
This concept has been eroded by the narrow thinking of the Democrat party and
recent administrations to our detriment. All of the evils and perversities of Woke
thinking that were brought forth and even mandated are, thankfully, being over-
turned and disassembled by our Conservative administration in a return to following
the tenets of our Constitution and its Bill of Rights. For this change we thank God.
We also must thank our courageous President, Donald Trump. And Christians
everywhere should also be thankful for the renewed opportunity to worship freely.
Prayer can be for many different reasons; for help and hope and supplication, for
strength for ourselves and others, for guidance in difficult situations, and just gratitude.
Thanksgiving Day can encompass any or all of these, and many more. We need to
remember to seize the opportunity to once again connect with our God and Creator.
Ideas like kindness, tolerance, peace, fairness and justice begin to surface when we
allow ourselves the space and time to become spiritual and think of the problems
and hurts of people other than ourselves.
So let us seize the day to truly pray and give thanks for all of our blessings and for the
United States of America. May God shed His grace from sea to shining sea…!
